Thanks for taking the time to review my website. I hope you find something interesting to read and, hopefully, comment on.
Who am I?
By day I am a Principal Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover, currently the Lead Engineer for displays (across all Jaguar Land Rover current and future products). In automotive since 2012, I’m still very much enjoying the experience…. after all, I am a car fan!
Prior to moving into the automotive sector, I spent most of my professional life in mobile telecoms having worked with Orbitel, Sony Ericsson, Sendo and Motorola. In that time I worked in manufacturing, product validation and, for the majority, mobile handset regulatory compliance and certification (R&TTE, FCC, SAR, EMC, GCF, PTCRB, BT, USB ……). Following my time at Motorola, I moved into Hazardous Area Approvals, looking after the approvals of all Krohne Optimass Coriolis Mass Flow Meters (ATEX, IECEx, NEPSI, INMETRO, FM, CSA…).
The time spent in telecoms was great and I was fortunate enough to work on some amazing projects.
By night and weekend I am a husband to an amazing wife, father to two amazing boys (and an equally amazing dog, Freddy) and a huge technology fan. I love most things mobile and social media and spend time filling my brain with information from a wide and rich variety of sources, sharing what I find interesting.
My latest area of interest is the Raspberry Pi. Time is my enemy so progress is slow but there are a few projects on the back burner which will all get posted on here (remote temperature monitor for our guinea pig house, media centre, twitter feed/notifier, surveillance and more).
I offer out everything I write on this blog for comment and discussion as that’s what makes it interesting.
